How long does PADI certification last?

Our dive knowledge and skills should be refreshed after 12 months of inactivity but your certification is for life.

Where do you even scuba dive in Colorado?

You would enjoy heated swimming pools most, like our favorite at the Aspen Rec Center. We are also happy to bring the party to the pool at your home. Adventurous divers have no problem in local lakes.

Can I get "The Bends?"

No, not in a pool, and actually very very unlikely diving in general. As you will learn in our training, conservative dive profiles and techniques do not make that very probable. You will most likely succumb to "The Giggles".

What gear do I need?

You are welcome to bring everything you have, but we've got you covered. All the scuba gear needed is included in every session, except for your graduation wetsuit, Lockers are available at the ARC but bring a towel for afterwards.

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?

For the introductory sessions you do not, your BCD will float you on the surface. Underwater, everyone actually feels graceful. If you want to become certified you will be required to tread water for 10 minutes and either swim 200 yards or do a snorkel surface swim for 300 yards. neither swim has a time limit..

Will my claustrophobia be a problem?

Maybe, maybe not, but if it is we will work through it together. Most people would say it's really no worse than wearing ski goggles.

What should I wear?

Swim stuff, whatever you are comfortable with. You can change and shower at the pool. Bring a towel.

Am I really in the water for 2 hours?

Not for the introductory sessions. You're are not enlisting in Navy Seal training, you are on vacation. Depending on the flow of your pre-dive briefing we will be blowing bubbles for 30-45 minutes or an hour, that's your call. During certification, plan on being in water for extended periods.

What if something happens and I am unable to finish the classes?

We will write you a " Referral ". A referral is your personal training record valid for 12 months from the last training segment.Unforeseen events in life may change your plans and venue. A referral may be issued at any time after training begins and can be taken to a PADI Resort/ Dive Center/ Instructor any where in the world. As long as some training continues every 12 months and you still love it, There Is No Need To Quit !

Payment and sizing

Get in touch, within a couple emails you will know if this is right for you and the availability. The schedule can be expanded when the timing is right and we don't want to leave anyone out. We are sure that you'll love diving like we do. At this time we would want to get sizes for all divers.

We spend most of our time diving or skiing but If you really just need to talk, just ask for our number and we can chat.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance for a full refund, barring a medical emergency.

If we call the dive off for safety or equipment issues we will provide a full refund.

Medical Statement

All divers will complete the standard medical statement before getting in the water. Please Note, If any question is answered “yes”, then that diver will need a doctors ok before participating. Check out the statement below.
