About Us
Meet Steve, your PADI Instructor
Our head instructor is Steve Ochko, aka SteveO, aka Scuba Steve. PADI OWSI 347157.
Steve is a Roaring Fork Valley native who currently lives on his family’s 1905 homestead.
He started entertaining visitors as a white water raft guide in 1979, a passion he continued for 22 years, accumulating a float log of more than 32,000 miles (the circumference of the Earth is 28,000 miles!).
Steve has been teaching skiing and snowboarding since 1988. He has spent the last 28 summers guiding fly fishing.
He is also a ... Swift Water Rescue Technician, American Sailing Association Bareboat Charter Captain, AASI Examiner Emeritus and Emergency First Response First Aid/CPR Instructor.
Steve has done most of his diving in the Caribbeans and aced his PADI Instructor exams at an IDC Centre in Bonaire, in the Leeward Antilles.
